Located on Davis Island in the Sheepscott River, Fort Edgecomb traces its origins to the early 19th century. Interpretive panels unfold the events surrounding the Fort's history when hostilities in Europe dictated construction of forts to protect local residents.
This 159-acre wetland preserve was one of the first areas settled on Westport Island. Hike along the 1.8 mile Jeremy’s Ramble Trail, exploring several short side trails. These blazed trails begin at the parking area off West Shore Road and proceed through hardwood forest, along a picturesque stone wall and by the lush green marsh grass of the wetland along the creek.
Charming and delightful recently restored country manor, with a very friendly owner who designed every last detail with great taste. Lovely well curated breakfast included. Gorgeous and peaceful grounds to wander including saltwater, a pond, goats, etc.
