On October 5th we hosted Maine the Way to celebrate the launch of their Issue 07: Oceans. We opened with midcoast Maine wine and beer from Oyster River Winegrowers and Sasanoa Brewing and deliciously homemade biscuits, deviled eggs, grilled skewers, and brown sugar cinnamon pop-tarts  by chefs Kate and Nathan Schmidt. Founders Cam Held and Christine Reighley shared stories from their publication inspiring great conversations into the evening.

About Maine The Way

Maine The Way is a new type of publication bringing the concept of "slow-journalism" to Maine. MTW takes the time to properly research, write, and photograph our stories, design a beautiful finished product giving the reader ample time to thoroughly enjoy each issue. The 160 page magazine leaves plenty of room for each piece to unfold naturally, and for full page photographic spreads. With a mix of in-depth articles, photo essays, poetry, and illustration, Maine the Way has something for everyone.

Absolutely wonderful, though too brief, stay. Room was historic with modern fixtures and a comfortable bed, the commons rooms were beautifully, tastefully decorated, and the grounds provided for lovely walks, and visits with the resident goats and chickens. Tasty breakfast box and excellent coffee completed the stay. Only some rooms are dog-friendly, but they love the dogs that stay. Already planning a return for a longer visit.
