The Thistle Inn is a beautiful old sea captains home built in 1861. The charming restaurant serves up fine food and craft cocktails in a casual environment. Delicious seafood and specials featuring local ingredients. Dinner reservations recommended.
It all started in 2015 when Brendan Parsons successfully retrofitted an Oscar Meyer’s hotdog cart and introduced the first oyster food cart to the State of Maine. Since the shucking began on the corner of Commercial and Pearl Street in Portland, BP’s Oysters has expanded to include two Portland-based food carts, a Newcastle restaurant, a Damariscotta farm, and an oyster distribution company.
So grateful we found The Squire Tarbox Inn. The stay was a highlight of our New England trip. The atmosphere is lovely and the “grab and go” chive and cheddar scones with fresh fruit, yogurt, and granola was exceptional.
