Midcoast Maine dining at it’s best. Our gourmet country style restaurant is located between Bath and Brunswick, and Wiscasset and Boothbay Harbor. In April, May, November & December this unique Midcoast Maine Fine Dining Restaurant is open on Thursday, Friday & Saturday. During those times Thursday is our Swiss night theme. For our guests lodging with us, dinner is served every day, except Tuesdays, upon prior request during those months. Private parties of 8 or more will be accepted any day except Tuesdays with a 48 hour or more advance notice.

Mario De Pietro, our Swiss chef/owner has over 30 years of culinary experience behind him – from working as a pastry chef at the Four Seasons’ New York, to managing the world famous restaurants at Rockefeller Centre – and now brings his expertise, professionalism and genuine passion for food to the restaurant at the Squire Tarbox Inn…….. Mario & Lara source their produce locally whenever possible, especially fresh caught seafood,
while nearly all the vegetables on the menu are organically grown on our son’s nearby farm, or on our property. Lara is also refining her cooking skills under her father, and would like to really put the emphasis of the restaurant on farm to table, locally produced foods, with much of it eventually made right here at the inn, from cheeses, yogurts, eggs, and meats to lots and lots of organic vegetables grown right here, or at her brother’s farm!! While it’s a work in progress, her degree is in nutrition, and she feels properly raised foods is the MOST important aspect of any healthy eating!

The Main dining room – situated in the original summer kitchen of the 1763 part of the Inn – is small, and the pace leisurely, in order to ensure excellence of cuisine and personal service. During the warm summer months we also serve dinners out on the screened-in deck overlooking the gardens, while in the fall and winter we expand to use our small upper dining room. Both dining rooms feature wood-burning fires, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere on cool nights, in which to enjoy your meal.
For our overnight guests a full breakfast is served buffet-style, anytime between 8:00 and 9:15 a.m.
Help yourself to: fresh fruits, a choice of juices, homemade granolas, Swiss style Muesli, homemade croissants and muffins, breads and rolls, freshly brewed coffees, varieties of tea …and more.
Then order your hot breakfast from the kitchen choosing from french toast that has been soaked in an orange & Grand Marniere mix, or fresh farm raised eggs cooked to order. Both are served with bacon or sausages.
Enjoy your breakfast out on the sunny screened-in deck off the dining room, while watching birds at the feeders outside; or just relax and chat to the other guests in the main dining room.
