This is our 10th year running the Squire Tarbox Inn. It looks as if spring is finally trying to get here, better late than never. Just got an e-mail from the Botanical Gardens in Boothbay. You should check out their upcoming events, they sound wonderful.

Spring…coastal Maine Inn news.

Written by admin. Posted in Squire Tarbox Blog, Squire Tarbox News

Here at our Midcaost Maine country bnb/Inn the first crocuses are out and the buds are appearing. We had another snowfall yesterday and are due for some more on Thursday and this week temperatures are below average. However, we are thinking positive and the 1st day of spring was yesterday so the warm weather can’t be far behind.!? April 6th we will be driving to Royal Oak MD to see friends for 4 days. Then we will get the historical Inn cleaned, painted and polished ready to open again on April 19th. Come and see us for Easter .

Midcoast Maine news

Written by admin. Posted in Squire Tarbox Blog, Squire Tarbox News

Time is flying by and soon the Inn will reopen, April 19th, for our 10th season. I was in Florida visiting friends who live right near the historical town of St. Augustine. What a neat town that is with so much to see & do. The weather was perfect, sunny every day and in the mid 70s  with cool nights. Our daughter was here  to visit from Oregon this past week which is always wonderful. We have one more trip, on April 6th, to do before we open and this time Mario will come along as well as our 2 dogs. We will visit friends in Maryland who have a house on the  Chesapeake Bay.

Spring will soon be here.

Here at our historical Inn & Bed & Breakfast in Midcoast Maine we still have a lot of snow on the ground. Every few days we get a beautiful springlike day teasing us and giving us a preview of what will soon be. The other day I sat in the midday sun for a few hours getting a head start on my tan. I am off to Florida next week to see “old” friends of ours that moved to near St. Augustine last year from CT. I will probably stay 5 or 6 days. The weather looks beautiful…low 70s. So more when I get back.

Maine winter

Written by admin. Posted in Squire Tarbox Blog, Squire Tarbox News, Uncategorized

It’s been a while since I have written a blog…sorry. Somehow the days fly by even though our Midcoast historical Maine Inn is closed until Easter. Cleaning up the snow every week takes quite a bit of time as well as catching up on rest. I went to Germany Last week for a week. I chose to come back a day before originally planned due to the forecast of yet another snow storm. In the end Maine got very little but Boston & New York got hit again. I was glad I did come back a day early as the the day of the storm flights were delayed and the flight I should have taken from Amsterdam to Boston had to land in Goose Bay Newfoundland before going to Boston making it a long trip.
I went to see my “old” friend who lives near Duesseldorf. She had just moved to a new apartment so I thought I could help a bit as well as check her new place out. The weather was crummy; drizzly, rainy and snowy but we had a good time visiting with each other and catching up. Now I will be home until about mid February when I plan to visit friends that relocated from CT. to FL. Mario stays home with the animals and the snow as that is where he is happiest.
More soon. Don’t forget to ‘like us’ on Facebook

2011

Written by admin. Posted in Squire Tarbox Blog, Squire Tarbox News, Uncategorized

It’s already 6 days into the new year. We are closed now until Easter Sunday in April and we are enjoying being away from the Inn for a while. There is still plenty to do though; all the paper work catch up as well as cleaning out fridges and freezers and then having to eat all the left over foods!!! Then we also have a lot of work at our house with throwing and sorting out all the stored things. We are nearing the end of our cottage renovation and once we can put a lot of our extra furniture and things in there we really will know what to keep or get rid of. We found old wooden toys from our kids which our new grandson should love to play with soon as well as all Mario’s electric train set which he plans to build up again next winter.
Enjoy the peacefulness of winter.

Noreaster hits Midcoast Maine

Written by admin. Posted in Squire Tarbox Blog, Uncategorized

Wow, that was some snow today and now we will get sub zero chill factor from the remaining high winds. But, apart from the work to clear all the snow, it is beautiful out there and tomorrow should be blue sky and sun so the camera will come out.
