Peaches almost ripe in midcoast Maine
The peaches are hanging on the trees, slowly changing their hues form green to the most stunning shades of oranges, pinks, and of course peach!! We should be able to harvest some in the next few days. We’ll make some ice cream, some cobbler and some crisps as they come in. Other notes on the farm, the chickens are still molting, so egg production has slowed, but the feathers are looking plush, and we hope they return to their normal laying patterns soon!! (or else we may have chicken stew :O) The tomatoes and peppers we planted are just starting to ripen, and we look forward to more zucchini, and cucumbers too!! Soon, we will be starting to put garlic in the ground for next spring’s harvest…ah…the seasons change sooooo fast!!

The cutest princess comes to our midcoast Maine B&B for dinner
Last night we had a beautiful princess arrive at our inn for dinner!! Loralei arrived for dinner last night with her escorts (parents) in a lovely pink dress and matching pink crocs as is the appropriate attire for such royals!! She was 3 years old and incredibly well behaved!! I love to see children that are willing to eat something other than chicken fingers, and Loralei was one of those children. She devoured her mother’s swiss onion soup, so much that Mom had to order another one for herself!!! She then had bites of Grandma’s crabcakes and Mom’s sockeye salmon!! Very adventurous! It was a pleasure to be graced with such a distinguished guest at our inn.

Maine’s midcoast beaches quite warm….(for Maine :))
I ventured down to Reid State Park yesterday to find the water quite swimmable!! It was a balmy 61…much higher than their average temp of about 57, due to the recent stretch of very warm weather that the whole East Coast has been seeing…I enjoyed swimming in the surf, and a little sunbathing! It’s the first time I’ve been in the ocean since 2007 ish….I miss it!!!! Check it out, and come stay with us, have a nice hot dinner to warm back up again
